Patagonia bike touring - what I’ll be seeing.
Here is the tour I did tumblr. 8-) I made it happen of inspiration from this picture.

I want to donate the 100-ish dollars that I’ve got to Sin Represas, a charity about stopping the building of dams in Chile. She said it was nice of me but that she wouldn’t do it. I’m literally on the verge of tears here. The one fucking time I think I’m actually doing something, something nice…
thats very kind of you lady
the pavent ends, rains increase but my and others travels continue.
under bridges is the only escape from the rain.
met three guys who arrived in bolivia and purchased 3 Chinese 150cc scooters and have need thrashing them all over south america.
lots of climbing and crazy rain till my hands are sore from being waterlogged.
went from dirt to fast concrete into some rain the next day. came across an Italiano who was so glad to be riding in some sun again.
i have 5 days to make it to chaiten to catch my ferry out of this now raining tough section of the carretera austral.
Earlier that day i passed a very nice couple traveling all across the america in the campered out toyota land cruiser. They were having suck luck fishing they gave me a huge trout that i ate on for two days.
as i head north from Coyhaique i take the old dirt spar of the Carretera Austral.
i catch a french tourist far ahead on the road in front of me on the first photo.
he has had a dog following him for the last 10 miles. He is riding slow and i pass him.
a few miles later the dog bridges up to me on a long hill and we procead to sling shot
past each other for another 20 miles!
till i hit a paved downhill and he just cant keep up.

I took my Sony nex5 with a 18-55 Sony lens and a fixed 600 sigma telephoto. Nice compact gear. No too heavy to carry on my bike.

So amazingly enough I gained 5lbs on this tour!
Doesn’t seem like much but I have a crazy metabolism and have never went past 145 in my life of 38 years.
So why did this happen? Pan. Ate a lot of the white bread biscuits they sell down there. Every girl I talked to said they were gaining weigh because of it also. But in inner patagonia it about all you can get.
